Clothing the Community

Since 1974 St. Francis House has been providing clothing with compassion to those in our community experiencing hardship. Our clients can shop for shoes, coats, clothing for work, small appliances, bedding, dishes and much more, all FREE OF CHARGE.

Monday-Wednesday-Friday : 10am – 5pm
Saturday: 10am – 2:30pm

CLIENT SHOPPING ONLY — CLOSED TO DONATIONS

Sunday: CLOSED

Due to our limited space, donations are limited to 6 bags or boxes per day. We are also asking that for the safety of our staff and volunteers, these bags and boxes weigh NO MORE than 25lbs. We appreciate your generosity and understanding.

Last year we had over 825 individuals and families register and shop at the Clothing Bank for the first time.

Donations

What items do you NOT accept?

Please kindly donate your items during our donation hours. Many items left outside our building when we are closed are often taken or ruined. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We cannot accept the following items:

  • Items Not in Bags/Boxes (please bring your items in non-returnable bag/boxes)
  • Items on Hangers
  • Books
  • Picture Frames
  • Items with Garage Sale Stickers
  • Expired Baby/Child Items
  • Used Toys
  • Large Appliances
  • Recreational Items (Golf Clubs, skis etc.)
  • Estate Sale leftovers
  • Air Conditioners
  • Large or unboxed Christmas Trees
  • File Cabinets
  • Medical Supplies/Wheelchairs
  • Broken Office Equipment
  • Exercise Equipment
  • Broken Appliances
  • We DO NOT accept Furniture

Is there a limit to how much I can bring in to donate at one time?

  • There is a 6 Bag/Box Limit.
  • Donations must be in a nonreturnable bag or box.

What items do you need right now?

We are always in need of:

  • Children’s clothes
  • Diapers size 3 or larger
  • Men’s shoes

Where can I take “NOOK” donations?

Items can be brought to St. Francis House receiving and we will send them to The Nook.

Do you accept medical equipment?

No, but you can call Gateway Medical Alliance. They accept medical equipment. 253-872-5886

Do you accept furniture?

No,we do not accept furniture, but you can call NW Furniture Bank in Tacoma, 253-302-3868.

How do I sign up?

To qualify you must meet the following guidelines :

  • Meet Federal Income Poverty Guidelines
  • Live within our service area zip codes 98022,98321,98328,98330, 98344, 98354, 98360, 98371, 98372, 98373, 98374, 98385, 98387, 98390, 98391, 98404, 98424, 98433, 98439, 98443, 98444, 98445, 98446, 98498, 98499, or 98580

To register please bring the following:

  • Photo ID
  • Proof of current address (MUST be a piece of mail)
  • Proof of income and expenses
  • Please arrive 30 minutes prior to shopping session.

I lost my card. What should I do?

Please bring your photo ID to Riebli House on your regularly scheduled shopping day. We will be able to look you up in our computer system.

If it has been more than 1 year since you have shopped, please bring your photo ID, proof of address (something mailed to you), and proof of income, in order to renew your card.

If it’s not your scheduled shopping day/time, you may or may not be able to shop.

It's not my scheduled shopping day/time. Can I shop?

You may or may not be able to shop. We will do our best to accommodate every client on their scheduled shopping day/time.

I haven't shopped in a long time.

Bring your card and/or photo ID to Riebli House, on your scheduled shopping day/time.  We will be able to look you up in our computer.

How do I get rental assistance/gas voucher

Please contact our Client Services Coordinator at 253-770-6991. This is a monitored line. If no one answers, please leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as possible.

Do You assist with food?

Our clients have access to your food pantry anytime they are shopping in the clothing bank. If you need further assistance we can help you navigate to local food banks.
