Amy’s Dinner

On December 9, 2020

Each weekday evening, a mom and her seven-year-old daughter emerge from the darkness to accept whatever dinner might be offered in our meal program’s grab-and-go bag. Amy is always eager to see “what’s for dinner tonight”! She also checks to see if Hanneh, our meal program coordinator, has slipped in some special candies for her. If they are there, she counts them carefully.

“She loves that candy,” offered her mom. “After dinner, she shares them with her friend in the next apartment. They stand on the porch, enjoying them together. Amy says they taste even better when she shares them!”

At her young age, Amy has learned what you have most likely also come to know: Gratitude spills over into Giving and Giving is made even sweeter by Gratitude!
