Jessica excitedly grabbed a pair of shiny, black high-heeled shoes from the shoe rack. “Wow, these are like new and absolutely perfect!”
A volunteer passing by noticed how Jessica was beaming and asked if she could take a photo of her with her new-found pair of shoes. Happy to pose with her new shoes, she began to express her deep gratitude for having a place to shop like St. Francis House. “I’ve only recently learned of this place and this is my first time shopping here. I just found a part-time job and I’m looking for a nice work outfit and a pair of nice shoes. As you can see, I found the shoes!”
“I can’t believe all of this is donated from the community!” Jessica continues. “I’m just so grateful that there is a resource like this.” Another client overhearing the conversation piped in, “I know. Isn’t this place amazing! St. Francis House has been so helpful to our family. We shop for our children’s clothing here and nobody would ever know that the clothing is used. The stuff here is so nice!”
As the two clients continued to chat, the volunteer walked away with a full heart and thankful spirit.
